SacSewer has put out an APB on the SacTown Unflushables, most
wanted for taking over your drains, clogging pipes, and causing
sewage overflows in the Sacramento region!
We need your help to prevent sewage blockages and overflows by
putting these offenders in the trash where they belong.
When improperly flushed down the toilet, items like disposable
disinfectant wipes, baby wipes, so-called “flushable” wipes,
floss, and masks wreak havoc on sewer pipes and equipment. Paper
products other than toilet paper (e.g., paper towels) also do not
break down once in the sewer system. No matter what the label
says, DO NOT flush them, trash them instead.
Capture these crooks and stop the clog!
MOST WANTED
This dirty rebel comes in all forms. Items like disinfectant
wipes, baby wipes, and even “flushable” wipes cause serious
problems for the sewer system. These items do not break down once
they’re flushed, so remember to trash the wipe, not the pipe.
Last seen sneaking through the sewer system, this masker of
disguise interacts with the Clog Squad and invasive roots in the
sewer, which bind together, causing blockages and creating the
potential for overflows. If you come in contact with this sneaky
sewage stopper, put this menace in the trash!
This small but mighty menace was spotted causing a snarled mess
in your bathroom pipes. Dental floss is made of material that is
not biodegradable and will not break down. To avoid larger
blockages and overflows, put this culprit in the trash, not the
toilet.
