Since late September 2011, the Sacramento Area Sewer District (SASD) has been working in partnership with Steve P. Rados, Inc., their designated contractor, on the Creek Protection Project to improve local sewer pipes that cross waterways. Selected areas were chosen after SASD conducted an extensive investigation into sewer pipelines crossing creeks. Although currently functioning, SASD determined that several sewer pipelines crossing creeks are in need of repair or modification to reduce the risk of a sewer overflow into a waterway. SASD takes great pride in its environmental stewardship and is addressing these crossings as quickly as possible. All construction work is tentatively scheduled for completion in fall 2012.
