Creek Protection Project: Location

The Creek Protection Project involves work at five locations, four sites within the city of Citrus Heights and one within the unincorporated area of Sacramento County.

  • Site #7: Zeeland Drive and Lost Creek Court, Citrus Heights (construction to begin summer 2012)
  • Site #13: Pretty Girl Court and Indian River Drive, Citrus Heights (construction nearly complete)
  • Site #22: Crosswoods Circle and Auburn Boulevard, Citrus Heights (construction to begin summer 2012)
  • Site #23: Arcadia Drive and Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights (construction nearly complete)
  • Site #27: Garfield Avenue and Arcade Creek Park, Sacramento (construction to begin spring 2012)

The project will involve the following:

  • Rerouting of sewer pipelines to eliminate waterway crossings at Sites 13 and 23
  • Tunneling underneath the waterway and construction of a new lift station to remove the aerial crossing at Site 27
  • Repairing the existing sewer pipeline crossing with new structural supports and piping at Sites 7 and 22

Site 7: Zeeland Drive and Lost Creek Court: This site will remain as a supported aerial pipe crossing supported by concrete piers. Work taking place in 2012. Site 13: Pretty Girl Court and Indian River Drive: The pipe alignment is being rerouted to remove the pipe crossing from the waterway. Work taking place in fall 2011. Site 22: Crosswoods Circle and Auburn Boulevard: This site will remain as a supported aerial pipe crossing supported by concrete piers. Work taking place in 2012. Site 23: Arcadia Drive and Greenback Lane: The pipe alignment is being rerouted to remove the pipe crossing from the waterway. Work taking place in fall 2011. Site 27: Garfield Avenue and Arcade Creek Park: Two existing pipes will be replaced with a single tunneled pipe under the waterway that will lead to a new lift station constructed on the south side of to the creek. Work taking place in 2012.
