DID YOU KNOW............

Approximately 70% of the labor and $6 million in construction cost dollars are staying within the community and used by local subcontractors such as Florez Paving, Nor Cal Pipeline Services, Enviro Tech Coatings, Inc., Thunder Mountain Enterprises and PSC Industrial. In addition, the Central Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation Project won the 2010 American Public Works Association (APWA) Award for Project of the Year (environmental category). Crews now have lined almost 7 miles of sewer lines and have completed 85% of the project.

Current Construction Activities

District crews are currently completing sewer rehabilitation work (including cleaning, television inspection, and liner installation) on Torrente Way (between Val Verde Way and Monterosa Court). Crews will then proceed into the Bufferlands which surrounds the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Work on Torrente Way began in July and requires the use of a 100-foot tent, which blocks driveway access to five homes. Designated parking spots are maintained with 24 hour security and sidewalk access available at all times. Impacted Torrente Way residents continue to keep in close contact with the project team and are well aware of the scheduled work. Crews are expected to work at the site from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to minimize impacts to residents.

*This schedule is subject to change and is contingent upon weather, and other construction issues.
