New District Engineer Appointed
Stan Dean has been appointed as SASD's new District Engineer, effective June 20, 2010. Dean replaces Mary Snyder, who recently retired. He now oversees the work of the District, which provides wastewater collection services to approximately 1.1 million residents in Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, unincorporated Sacramento County, and portions of the cities of Sacramento and Folsom.
Stan began working with the Sanitation Districts in 1993. He was promoted in 1995 to oversee the Engineering Section at Wastewater Treatment Plant. He was appointed Plant Manager in November 1997, and in 2005 he became the SRCSD Division Chief in charge of operations, maintenance, engineering, administration, construction programs and laboratory services for all SRCSD treatment and conveyance facilities. He became Director of Policy and Planning for both SRCSD and SASD in 2008, where he oversaw long-range planning, regulatory and legislative affairs, wastewater source control and high level policy development for the Districts.
